धार्मिक पूजा अनुष्ठान में पूजा कर्म का विशेष महत्व है।व्यक्ति अपने सुख शान्ति ,आरोग्यता,धन धान्य ,व्यापार वृद्धि ,वंश वृद्धि कार्यसिद्धि ,इष्ट की प्रसन्नता,मन इच्छित मनोकामना हेतु देव पूजन करता है। पूजा कार्य मे होने वाली त्रुटि से कभी कभी अनेक प्रकार की हानि होने के आसार बन जाते है।इस लिए पूजा कार्य शुद्धता व सावधानी से करना चाहिये।योग्य गुरु आचार्य जी से परामर्श से ही कार्य संपादित करें।देवतार्चन में कौन सा पदार्थ किस प्रकार अर्पित करना है।क्या करना है, क्या नही कुछ तथ्यों को जानने का प्रयास करते है।
1- देव पूजन में पुष्प अधोमुख कर नही चढ़ाये।विल्व पत्र अधोमुख करके चढ़ाये।कुशा के अग्र भाग से देवताओं पर जल न छिड़के।
2- शरीर के ऊपर या धोती में रखा, जल में डुबाया पुष्प देवता ग्रहण नही करते है।
3 -श्री विष्णु को अक्षत, गणेश को तुलसी, शिव को केतकी , दुर्गा को दूर्वा,सूर्य को विल्वपत्र नही चढ़ाये।
4-देवताओं को अर्पित प्रज्वलित दीपक को बुझाना नही चाहिए।दीपक से दीपक जलाने से मनुष्य दरिद्र व रोगी होता है।
5-मांगलिक कार्यो में दूसरे की पहनी अंगूठी धारण नही करना चाहिए।
6-सभी शुभ कार्यो में पत्नी की दाये (दक्षिण) में बैठने का विधान है।किन्तु अभिषेक विप्रपाद प्रक्षालन तथा सिंदूर दान, भोजन ,यात्रा शयन के समय वामभाग में बैठाने का विधान है।
7-स्त्री आचमन के स्थान पर जल से नेत्रो को पोछ लें।
8 -स्त्री के बाएं हाथ व कन्या के दाहिने हाथ मे रक्षा सूत्र बाँधना चाहिए।
9-बिना तिलक यज्ञोपवीत के धौत वस्त्र के पूजन कार्य नही करना चाहिये।
10-खुले सर पूजा निषेध है।गमच्छा टोपी या रूमाल से सिर ढककर रखना शुभ है।
11-पतला चन्दन देवताओ को कदापि न चढ़ाये।
12-जो ब्राह्मण को यज्ञ के उपरान्त संतुष्ट न कर सके ।उसका यज्ञ असफल होता है।
13-ब्राह्मण के लिए चार बातों का विशेष ध्यान दें, प्रणाम , भोजन,दान,दक्षिणा।
14-ताम्बे के पात्र में रखा चन्दन अपवित्र होता है।
15-कमल पुष्प पांच रात,विल्व पत्र दश रात,तुलसी ग्यारह रात के बाद पुनः प्रक्षालन करके चढ़ाया जा सकता है।
16-स्त्री व शूद्र के शंख ध्वनि करने से लक्ष्मी रुष्ट होकर चली जाती है।
17-यज्ञादि में भूमिशयन करना ,ब्रह्मचर्य का पालन करना व अल्पाहार करना चाहिये।
18-यज्ञादि कर्म में मसूर की दाल ,बेगन ,पालक,लहसुन ,प्याज, गरम मसाले आदि का निषेद करें।
19-यज्ञादि कर्म शुरू होने के बाद दाड़ी बाल नख छेदन तेल मर्दन आदि का प्रयोग वर्जित है।
20- पूजा मण्डप पूर्व ,पश्चिम,उत्तर दिशा में होना चाहिए।
21- दक्षिण दिशा में पितृ कार्य करना चाहिए।
22-मुख्य प्रवेश द्वार देहली में ॐ स्वस्तिक शुभ लाभ चिह्न अंकित करने से घर मे बाधाये प्रवेश नही करती।
22-रात्रि में कलश स्थापन नही करे।
23- पूजन कार्य मे शंख व घण्टी का पूजन करना न भूले।
24-सूंघा हुआ ,धोया हुआ,बासी फूल भगवान को न चढ़ाये।
25-पूजन में जलपात्र घंटा ,धूपदानी ,तेल का दीपक,बायी ओर ही रखे।घी का दीपक,शंख,जल से भरा शंख दायीं ओर रखे।
26-कुछ भी उपलब्ध न हो तो मानसिक पूजा ही करें।
27- शालीग्राम व नर्मदेश्वर की प्राण प्रतिष्ठा नही होती है।
28-पत्थर, काष्ठ,सोना,व अन्य धातुओं की प्रतिष्ठा घर व मंदिर में करनी चाहिए।
29-घर मे चल व मन्दिर में अचल प्रतिष्ठा करनी चाहिए।
30-ताम्बे के वर्तन में दूध रखकर शिव जी को नही चढ़ाये।
