वास्तुविद्या बहुत प्राचीन है।विश्व के प्राचीन ग्रन्थ ऋग्वेद में इसका उल्लेख मिलता है।इस विद्या के अधिकांश ग्रन्थ लुप्त हो चुके है।वास्तु का अर्थ है निवास करना।जिस भूमि में मनुष्य वास करता है उसे वास्तु कहते है।कुछ वर्षों से लोगो का ध्यान वास्तुविद्या पर गया जिससे भवन निर्माण आदि कार्यो में भवन निर्माताओं ने वास्तु पर विशेष ध्यान दिया।हमारे प्राचीन गर्न्थो में न जाने ऐसी कितनी विद्याएँ छिपी पड़ी है।वास्तु विद्या बहुत विशाल है।गृह वास्तु, प्रासाद वास्तु, नगर वास्तु, पुर वास्तु, दुर्ग वास्तु, आदि अनेक भेद है।

                                  जब मनुष्य अपने निवास के लिए ईट पत्थर आदि के गृह निर्माण करता है। तब उस गृह में वास्तु नियम लागू हो जाते है।वास्तु में दिशाओ का महत्त्व विशेष है। 

जमीन,घर,दुकान,ऑफिस क्रय निर्माण करते समय वास्तुविद की सलाह जरूर लानी चाहिये।

।।वास्तु का प्रादुर्भाव।।

भगवान शंकर जी ने जब अंधकासुर का वध किया ,उस समय उनके ललाट से पृथ्वी में पसीने की बूंदें गिरी।उनसे एक विकराल मुख वाला प्राणी उत्पन्न हुआ।उस प्राणी ने पृथ्वी पर गिरे हुए अन्धको के रक्त का पान किया जब वह तृप्त नही हुआ,तब वह भगवान शंकर जी के सम्मुख घोर तपस्या करने लगा।उसकी तपस्या से प्रसन्न होकर भगवान शंकर जी ने उससे कहा की तुम्हारी जो कामना है वर माँग लो।उसने वर मांगा की में तीनों लोकों को ग्रसने में समर्थ होना चाहता हूँ।वर प्राप्त करके अपने विशाल शरीर तीनों लोकों अवरुद्ध करता हुआ पृथ्वी पर आ गिरा ।तब भयभीत देवताओं उसको अधोमुख करके वही स्तम्भित कर दिया।जिस देवता ने उसको जहाँ से दवा रखा था ।वह देवता उसके उसी स्थान पर निवास करने लगे।सभी देवताओं के निवास करने के कारण वह वास्तु नाम से प्रसिद्ध हुआ।

              जब भवन निर्माण किया जाता है तो सबसे पहले भूमि का शोधन ,पूजन, खनन ,शिलान्यास, फिर भवन का निर्माण कार्य किया जाता है।भवन निर्माण में वास्तु दिग्दर्शन के अनुसार,मुख्यद्वार,खिड़की,पूजास्थल,रसोईघर,भण्डारघर,शयनकक्ष,शौचालय,विद्याकक्ष,आदि वास्तु शास्त्र सम्मत निर्माण करना चाहिए।जिससे भवन में निवास करने पर किसी समस्या का सामना नही हो।प्रतिष्ठत भवन में तोड़ फोड़ करने से वास्तुभंग का दोष लगता है

भवन प्रासाद कार्य पूर्ण होने पर भवन की वास्तुशान्ति प्रतिष्ठा कर्म के बाद गृहप्रवेश करना चाहिये जिससे चिर सुख व आनन्द प्राप्त हो।

Architecture is very ancient. It is mentioned in the Rigveda, the ancient text of the world. Most of the texts of this discipline have become extinct. Vaastu means to reside. The land in which man resides is called Vastu. People of some years.  The focus was on architecture so that the builders paid special attention to Vastu in construction work etc. There are so many such things hidden in our ancient garanthos. Vastu Vidya is very vast.  Durg Vastu, etc. have many differences.

 When man builds houses of bricks and stones etc. for his residence.  Then Vastu rules are applied in that house. The importance of directions in the object is special.

 The architect must be consulted while purchasing land, house, shop, office.

 The emergence of the object.

 When Lord Shankar ji killed Andhakasura, drops of sweat fell into the earth from his forehead. He gave birth to a ravenous creature. That creature drank the blood of the fallen darkness on the earth when it was not satisfied,  Then he started doing severe austerities in front of Lord Shankar ji. Pleased with his austerity, Lord Shankar Ji asked him to ask for whatever you wished for. He asked for the groom to be able to make all the three worlds able to bear.  His huge body fell on the earth blocking all the three worlds. Then the frightened gods turned to him and stunned him. The god from whom he had kept the medicine. That god began to reside in the same place.  The reason he became famous by the name Vastu.

 When the building is constructed, firstly the refining of the land, worship, mining, foundation, then the construction of the building is done. According to the architectural reference in the building, the main gate, window, place of worship, kitchen, warehouse, bedroom, toilet,  Vidyaksha, etc. should be constructed according to Vastu Shastra, so that no problem is faced while residing in the building.

 After the completion of the building work, the architecture of the building should enter the house after the prestige work, so that there is everlasting happiness and joy.
