श्रावण मास में रुद्रभिषेक शिव पूजन सोमवार व्रत का विशेष महत्व है।भगवान साम्बसदाशिव अपने भक्तों के लिए कल्याणकारी अमंगलहारी है वे भक्तों की पीड़ा व रक्षा के लिए हमेशा भक्तों साथ मे रहते है। जो मनुष्य सदा शिव पंचाक्षरी,, ॐ नमः शिवाय,, मंत्र का जप करता है।वह जन्मजन्मांतर के दुःखो व पुनरागमन से निवृत हो शिवलोक में वास करता है।भोलेनाथ जी को सावन का महिना प्रिय है।इसलिए भोले बाबा सावन मास में पृथ्वी में वास करते है।जो भी शिव भक्त सावन में शिव जी का जलाभिषेक करता है, भोलेनाथ उसके सारे कष्ट हर लेते है, भक्तो की सारी मनोकामना का पूर्ण करते है।
स्कन्द पुराण में लोमशजी कहते हैं ।जो मनुष्य शिवमन्दिरके ऑगन में झाडू लगाते हैं , वे निश्चय ही भगवान् शिवके लोकमें पहुँचकर सम्पूर्ण विश्वके लिये वन्दनीय हो जाते हैं । जो भगवान् शिवके लिये यहाँ अत्यन्त प्रकाशमान दर्पण अर्पण करते हैं , वे आगे चलकर शिवजी के सम्मुख उपस्थित रहनेवाले पार्षद हेंगे।जो लोग देवाधिदेव ,शूलपाणि ,शंकर को चवँर भेट करते हैं।वे त्रिलोकीमें जहाँ कही जन्म लेंगे,उनपर चँवर डुलता रहेगा । जो परमात्मा शिवकी प्रसनताके लिये धूप निवेदन करते हैं।वे पिता और नाना दोनोंके कुलोंका उद्धार करते हैं तथा भविष्य में यशस्वी होते हैं। जो लोग भगवान् हरि - हर के सम्मुख दीप दान करते है।वे भविष्य में तेजस्वी होते और दोनों कुलों का उद्धार करते हैं।जो मनुष्य हरि - हरके आगे नैवेद्य निवेदन करते हैं ,वे सम्पूर्ण यज्ञका फल पाते हैं।जो लोग टूटे हुए शिव मन्दिरको पुनः बनवा देते हैं,वे निस्सन्देद द्विगुण फल के भागी होते हैं।जो ईट अथवा पत्थर से भगवान् शिव तथा विष्णुके लिये नूतन मन्दिर निर्माण कराते हैं।वे तब तक स्वर्गलोक में आनन्द भोगते हैं।जबतक इस पृथ्वीपर उनकी यह कीर्ति स्थित रहती है।
श्रावण मास मनुष्यों में ही नही अपितु पशु पक्षियों में भी एक नव चेतना का संचार करता है जब प्रकृति अपने पुरे यौवन पर होती है। नदी तालाब जल से भरपूर होते है। सावन में मौसम का परिवर्तन होने लगता है।प्रकृति हरियाली और फूलो से धरती का श्रुंगार करती है परन्तु धार्मिक परिदृश्य से सावन मास भगवान शिव को ही समर्पित रहता है।
श्रावण महीने में शिवजी का व्रत या उपवास रखा जाता है।श्रावण मास में पुरे माह भी व्रत रखा जाता है। इस महीने में प्रत्येक दिन स्कन्ध पुराण के एक अध्याय को अवश्य पढना चाहिए। यह महीना मनोकामनाओ का इच्छित फल प्रदान करने वाला माना जाता है। पुरे महीने शिव परिवार की विशेष पूजा की जाती है।
सावन मास में रखे गये व्रतो की महिमा अपरम्पार है।जब सती ने अपने पिता दक्ष के निवास पर शरीर त्याग दिया था उससे पूर्व महादेव को हर जन्म में पति के रूप में पाने का प्रण किया था। पार्वती ने सावन के महीने में ही निराहार रहकर कठोर तप किया था और भगवान शंकर को पा लिया था। इसलिए यह मास विशेष हो गया और सारा वातावरण शिवमय हो गया।
इस अवधि में विवाह योग्य लडकियाँ इच्छित वर पाने के लिए सावन के सोमवारों पर व्रत रखती है इसमें भगवान शंकर के अलावा शिव परिवार अर्थात माता पार्वती , कार्तिकेय , नन्दी और गणेश जी की भी पूजा की जाती है। सोमवार को उपवास रखना श्रेष्ट माना जाता है।
श्रावण मास में भगवान शिव के कैलाश में आगमन के कारण व श्रावण मास भगवान शिव को प्रिय होने से की गई समस्त आराधना शीघ्र फलदाई होती है।पद्म पुराण के पाताल खंड के अष्टम अध्याय में ज्योतिर्लिंगों के बारे में कहा गया है कि जो मनुष्य इन द्वादश ज्योतिर्लिंगों के दर्शन करता है, उनकी समस्त कामनाओं की इच्छा पूर्ति होती है। स्वर्ग और मोक्ष का वैभव जिनकी कृपा से प्राप्त होता है।
श्रावण मास भी अपना विशेष महत्व रखता है। संपूर्ण महीने में चार सोमवार, एक प्रदोष तथा एक शिवरात्रि,हरितालिका तीज, नागपंचमी ये योग एकसाथ श्रावण महीने में मिलते हैं। इसलिए श्रावण का महीना अधिक फल देने वाला होता है।श्रावणमें पार्थिव शिवपूजाका विशेष महत्व है। अत: प्रतिदिन अथवा प्रति सोमवार तथा प्रदोष को शिवपूजा या पार्थिव शिवपूजा अवश्य करनी चाहिये।
प्रातःकाल स्नान ध्यान से निवृत्त हो मंदिर या घर पर श्री गणेश पंचांग पूजा करके शिवपंचायतन -शिव,पार्वती ,गणपति ,कार्तिकेय नंदी,नाग की पूजा की जाती है।भगवान भोलेनाथ को जल , दूध , दही , घी ,शहद, शक्कर,पंचामृत से स्नान कर रुद्रभिषेक करें ।वस्त्र जनेऊ , चंदन , भस्म,रोली , फूलमाला,बेल पत्र , भांग , धतूरा , आदि से अलंकृत करें।धूप , दीप दिखाकर नैवेद्य अर्पण करें, दक्षिणा आरती प्रदक्षिणा नमस्कार करे।इस प्रकार से भगवान उमापति का पूजन किया जाता है। शिव की महिमा का गुणगान शिव स्त्रोत्र शिव चालीसा शिव पुराण का पाठ करें। इस मास में रुद्रभिषेक,लघुरुद्र, महारुद्र अथवा अतिरुद्र पाठ कराना चाहिए।
शास्त्रों और पुराणों में श्रावण मास को अमोघ फलदाई कहा गया है।
-विवाहित महिलाओं को श्रावण मास में व्रत पूजन करने से परिवार में खुशियां, समृद्घि और सम्मान व सन्तान का सुख प्राप्त होता है,
-पुरूषों को व्रत करने से कार्य-व्यवसाय में उन्नति,शैक्षणिक गतिविधियों में सफलता और आर्थिक रूप से मजबूती मिलती है।
-अविवाहित लड़कियां यदि श्रावण के प्रत्येक सोमवार को शिव परिवार का विधि-विधान से पूजन करती हैं तो उन्हें अच्छा घर और वर मिलता है।

Mahatmya of Shravan month.
Rudrabhishek Shiva Pujan Monday fast is of special importance in Shravan month. Lord Sambasadasiva is a benevolent amalghari for his devotees. The person who always chants the mantra, Shiva Panchakshari, ॐ Namah Shivaya, he stays in the Shivloka, having been relieved from the sorrows of the birth and the return of life. Bholenath ji is loved for the month of Saavan. Whenever a Shiva devotee does the Jalabhishek of Shiva in the spring, Bholenath takes all his sufferings, fulfills all the wishes of the devotees.
In Skanda Purana, Lomashji says. Those people who sweep under the fire of Shiv Mandir, they surely become worshipable for the whole world by reaching Lord Shiva's world. Those who offer very bright mirrors here for Lord Shiva, they will later be the councilors who are present in front of Shiva. Those who offer the moon to Devadhidev, Shulapani, Shankar, and the trower will dwell wherever they are born in the triloki. Those who request incense for the blessings of the divine Shiva, they save the clans of both father and grandfather and become glorious in the future. Those who donate lamps in front of Lord Hari-Hara. They are bright in future and save both clans. Those who request Naivedya before Hari-Hara get the fruits of complete Yajna. Those who break the broken Shiva temple. They get rebuilt, they are part of the blissful double-fruit. They build new temples for Lord Shiva and Vishnu with bricks or stones. They enjoy joy in the heavens till then, so that their fame is situated on this earth.
The month of Shravan communicates a new consciousness not only in humans but also in animal birds when nature is at its full puberty. River ponds are full of water. The weather changes in the spring. The nature adorns the earth with greenery and flowers, but with the religious landscape, the month of Savan remains dedicated to Lord Shiva.
The fast or fast of Shiva is kept in the month of Shravan. In the month of Shravan, fast is also kept for the whole month. Every day in this month one chapter of Skandha Purana must be read. This month is considered to provide the desired fruit of the desire. Shiva family is specially worshiped throughout the month.
The glory of the vrato kept in the month of Savan is incomparable. Before Sati sacrificed her body at the residence of her father Daksha, before that Mahadev pledged to get her as a husband in every birth. Parvati had meditated hard during the month of Savan and had attained Lord Shankar. Therefore this month became special and the whole atmosphere became shiva.
In this period, the marriageable girls fast on Mondays of the month to get the desired groom.In addition to Lord Shankar, the Shiva family i.e. Mother Parvati, Karthikeya, Nandi and Ganesh ji are also worshiped. Fasting on Monday is considered best.
Due to the arrival of Lord Shiva in Kailash in Shravan month and the worship of Lord Shiva in the month of Shravan, all the worship is done quickly. In the eight chapter of the Patala section of Padma Purana, Jyotirlinga is said to be the man Visiting the Jyotirlingas, their wishes are fulfilled. The splendor of heaven and salvation is obtained by whose grace.
The Shravan month also holds its special significance. In the whole month, there are four Mondays, one Pradosh and one Shivaratri, Haritalika Teej, Nagpanchami, these yoga together in the month of Shravan. Therefore, the month of Shravan is more fruitful. Earth Shiva Puja has special significance in Shravan. Therefore, every day or every Monday, Pradosh must do Shiv Puja or earthly Shiv Puja.
Early in the morning, take a bath and meditate on Shri Ganesh Panchang at the temple or at home. Take bath and perform Rudrabhishekam. Adorn the clothes with Janeu, Chandan, Bhasma, Roli, Phoolamala, Bel Patra, Cannabis, Dhatura, etc. goes. Praise Shiva's glory Read Shiva Stotra Shiva Chalisa Shiva Purana. Rudrabhishek, Laghurudra, Mahaudra or Adhudra should be recited during this month.
In the scriptures and the Puranas, the month of Shravan is called Amogha Faldai.
Worshiping married women during fasting in Shravan month brings happiness, prosperity and respect and happiness of children in the family,
Fasting men helps in progress in business, success in educational activities and financially.
If unmarried girls worship the Shiva family by law every Monday of Shravan, they get a good home and groom.
