प्रदोष व्रत का महत्व

प्रदोष का अर्थ है रात्रि का आरम्भ। इसी समय इस व्रत के पूजन का विधान होने के कारण प्रदोष व्रत कहलाता है । यह व्रत प्रत्येक पक्ष की त्रयोदशी को किया जाता है।इस व्रत का मुख्य उद्देश्य है सन्तान की कामना । इसे स्त्री और पुरुष दोनों कर सकते हैं , परन्तु व्यावहारिक रूप में जिस प्रकार एकादशी का व्रत महिलाएं अधिक करती हैं उसी प्रकार इस व्रत को पुरुष अधिक रखते हैं ।

इस व्रत के उपास्यदेव भगवान शंकर हैं और प्रदोष काल में उन्हीं का विधिवत् पूजन किया जाता है । व्रती को सायंकाल शंकरजी का पूजन करके ही एक बार भोजन करना चाहिए । कृष्ण पक्ष का प्रदोष व्रत यदि शनिवार को पड़ता हो तो वह ' शनि - प्रदोष ' कहलाता है और विशेष फलदायक होता है । सोमवार के दिन पड़ने वाला प्रदोष व्रत ‘ सोम प्रदोष कहलाता है । 

इस व्रत के उपास्य देव भगवान शिव हैं और सोमवार शिवजी का वार अतः सोम - प्रदोष का तो विशिष्ट महत्व है ही , श्रावण मास के प्रदोष भी अत्यन्त महत्वपूर्ण माने जाते हैं ।क्योंकि श्रावण मास शिवजी की विशिष्ट पूजाओं का मास है । प्रदोषव्रत में भोजन तो एक ही समय किया जाता है , परन्तु फलाहार का बंधन नहीं , सामान्य भोजन भी किया जा सकता है । 

यद्यपि किसी भी प्रदोष से यह व्रत प्रारम्भ किया जा सकता है।परन्तु सन्तान प्राप्त हेतु शनिवार के प्रदोष से कर्जा उतारने हेतु मंगलवार से और सौभाग्य प्राप्ति के लिए शुक्रवार के प्रदोष से यह व्रत प्रारम्भ करना चाहिए।सोमवार के प्रदोष से व्रत प्रारम्भ करने पर शान्ति और हर प्रकार से रक्षा प्राप्त होती है । 

इक्कीस वर्ष तक यह व्रत करने के पश्चात इसका उद्यापन करने का विधान है , परन्तु परिस्थिति वश बीच में उद्यापन करके भी व्रत का समापान किया जा सकता है।

Pradosh vrat

 Pradosh means the beginning of the night.  At the same time, due to the law of worshiping this fast, Pradosh fast is called.  This fast is observed on the Trayodashi of each side. The main purpose of this fast is to wish for children.  It can be done by both men and women, but in practice, women keep this fast more in the same way as women do fasting for Ekadashi.

 Lord Shiva is the worshiper of this fast and he is duly worshiped during the Pradosh period.  The fast should be eaten once by worshiping Shankarji in the evening.  If the Pradosh fast of Krishna Paksha falls on Saturday, then it is called 'Shani-Pradosh' and is especially fruitful.  The Pradosh fast that falls on Monday is called 'Som Pradosh'.

 Lord Shiva is the worshiper of this fast and so is the importance of Soma Shiva on Monday, so the Prados of Shravan month are also considered very important.  In Pradoshvrat, food is served at the same time, but not only the consumption of fruits, normal food can also be eaten.

 Although this fast can be started from any Pradosha, but this fast should be started from Tuesday to get loan from Saturday's Pradosha to get children and from Friday's Pradosha to get good luck.  And defense is available in every way.

 After observing this fast for twenty-one years, there is a law to promote it, but by fasting under the circumstances, the fast can also be abolished.
